About the ECA

Founded in 2001, the European Association of Competition Authorities (ECA), is an informal association that serves as a forum for discussion by the competition authorities of the European Economic Area (EEA), which includes the Member States of the European Union, the European Commission, the EFTA States (European Free Trade Association) Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, and the EFTA Supervisory Authority.

ECA’s purpose is to improve cooperation between competition authorities and to contribute to the efficient use of national and European competition rules, focusing on business mergers.
